Rental apartment, a little different.
The assignment was to design an interior space in a new apartment block, with minimal structural interventions, precisely defined budget and simultaneously distinctive enough from the standard of similar properties available on the market.
Instead of structurally dividing the spatially modest space, colors and material surfaces frame the various functions. The structure of a fabric curtain as the central element lets in a soft mild light. Along with intimate division of the sleeping area, which doesn't slice the connected space in the daytime regime. A woollen acoustic cladding melts the various functions, softens the contrasts - it starts as a headboard and continues to the living room area with an inserted TV.
Design did not dominate the decision making process. Solutions to prolong the life span of the apartment, such as spreading the ceramic cladding to the entrance hall, renewal of the wooden floors and a high-grade worktop were crucial instead. As well as the selection of the main materials to enhance the user comfort and overall atmosphere. We believe that a quality space is supposed to be perceived by all the senses, not just as an attractive image.
