An award winning yogurt shop design that goes beyond the banal and commonplace. We were tasked with developing the brand identity, including logo and
architectural aesthetic, for Olo Yogurt Studio, a new startup in
Albuquerque. We approached the design of the first location as we would
any important public architectural project: despite the small scale and
limited budget, we recognized that many people will interact with this
space and opportunities for experimentation were as available here as
anywhere. The scale is small, but there is no reason the vision must be.
The self-serve yogurt concept calls for a particular circulation pattern
in which customers cycle through the space from the dispensers, to the
toppings, to the cashier. The ceiling pattern draws customers in from
the street to the yogurt selection at the back of the narrow space. The
progression of the circulation flow is reinforced through a secondary,
more subtle, pattern in the floor.
