In the first meeting I had with the customer , we talked about the program, the specific needs of the proyect, the usual; the number of bedrooms , bathrooms and connections of spaces. Leaf through magazines that were with him, saw photographs of details that caught his attention . Finally , I was able to perceive what was behind their ideas, and as a starting point , we mark that the house had to break the pattern of other homes in the neighborhood.
And to start with the first diagram , I understood that 135m2 would be difficult to give the client an ostentatious house in terms of size . I Choose to play with the perception of space with a system of "step " plan to cover as much ground as possible , and thus prevent the house to be overshadowed by neighboring homes on account of their size.
In a traditional private neighborhood of Jalisco. Where the sloping ceilings , roof tiles and pastel colors are a mandatory requirement . We were limited in maintaining the purity of the forms that initially wanted to keep . After exploring many options of tilt roofs and the tops of the same ; as these also had to maintain the image of the traditional Mexican home. In the end, we tried to handle these elements in a way that would be apparent to the visitor, make you feel familiar with the home through these traditional elements , but at one point , the house is changing while you discover, and is mutating in these clean and enigmatic sight of the observer forms.
To stagger the ground , I realized that you could get nice gardens , so this decision led us to another, to make the house turn around to itself and to set it with these semi indoor gardens . The whole project revolves around a screen wall of painted white brick, that manages to define the private space of the space visitor, but without depriving to take a brief look at these gardens.
To increase the presence of the house, the room is double-height design , in which the high parapets allowed to fool the casual observer perception . On the top of the room, the ceiling is peeled from the walls , allowing light to enter warmly and merges with pergola that is emerging as a growing double height , mingling and mixing with the purple color of the roof , that light through the roof seemed to lean a little. At the same time , it works for the double-height display , which lights up at night , and is illuminated from the outside through small and slender window that lets poke the incandescent purple colors of the roof.
And with a somewhat unexpected result comes home at night with indirect lighting , the flashes of light hitting the plants, bounce off the white walls , and begins a metamorphosis of the house that gets highlight their presence in the environment and create an almost scenic image of the house put on a colorful background that hide at night .
