Designed by Atelier 292 Architect Inc. this new affordable housing apartment building integrates well into the Ottawa Lowertown neighbourhood. It represents a new design paradigm for the community housing projects. Its distinct design incorporates modern features, such as superinsulated walls, in–floor heating systems, low–maintenance stained concrete floors and high efficiency mechanical systems. Interior and exterior materials were selected for their distinguished look, durability and ease of maintenance.
Located at the corner of Old St. Patrick Street and Beausoleil Drive this new addition to the OCH stock has nine loft-like units offering townhouse living with a split–level design. A new barrier–free unit located in the south end will provide accessible living space for one Ottawa family. The building provides a common green space around the building. It provides a central laundry facility. Each unit has its own storage space in the basement.
