OKHO is a ponderous white new skin that aims to highlight the architectural impact of Moscow's International Film Festival venue - Pushkinsky Cinema.
This proposal “frames” the main entrance creating the maximum contrast with the original entrance façade, now black.
In order to respect the memories of the existing building, black is used for existing; white for new and red is the edge between past and present.
This proposal also proposes a new roof, transforming the existing level into a Lounge Area for Films Premiers and other events with a privileged skyline view.
To reach this level, two independent accesses cores were thought with escalators and elevators on both sides of the building.
External LED panels projecting advertisements and general information are now proposed to improve the visual impact.
For the restaurants area, on ground floor, is suggested a new design, returning the importance of the main building and its use.
The red epoxy painted 'carpet' lead every visitor from the square to main entrance.
