The residential and commercial building, constructed 55 years ago, has been the headquarters of the architectural firm Wannenmacher + Möller since 1970. With the continuous expansion of the company, apartments were gradually vacated and added to the office space. This resulted in minor structural changes and a design refresh of the premises. On the ground floor, all suspended plasterboard ceilings and the lightweight walls surrounding the secretarial office and meeting room were removed and replaced with expanded metal ceiling panels and glass walls. White thread curtains provide privacy without completely sacrificing transparency. Instead of carpet, the basalt already used outside the entrance was laid throughout the ground floor. The new staircase and doors are made of oak, which provides a warm contrast to the floor, walls, and ceiling. Finally, an extension built in the late 1970s at the rear of the building was replaced by a larger one. Its façade is completely covered with greenery except for the horizontal band of windows. The roof area was converted into a roof garden with extensive greenery, a long bench, and tiled areas for the adjacent meeting room.
