*PROJECT BRIEF

The company, for which the design was created, is a risk management company with an array of products and services. Clients were very clear about their office to reflect the rapidly changing and evolving business and ideas. They also wanted to make the office aspirational to new recruits. The design thus had to appeal to a variety of age groups, at once being vibrant and subtle…. Becoming exciting and meditative alternatively as per the functional needs.
The essence of our response lies in the intangible idea of time and change… of static and dynamic, of collaborative learning and working
A Wall that slices through the office space at an angle creates an impact of a dynamic space at the entrance.. It carries a grid that is representative of the product logo of the company. The logo is a static grid, and it evolves and changes as new products are added to their bouquet. This was represented at the entrance by making a grid of sculptural clocks. They show the time of different time zones as well as subtly hint at the time and change in the company’s aspiration. The wall further cuts inside and as the eye travels, the grid becomes a series of square boxes which is the library. The boxes evoke, artfully and interactive art, where in users can create their own art, or the art creates itself because of its functionality. A large collaborative area is place adjacent to a folly (meeting room) that eases itself in this wall. The folly, like the Charminar, evokes a meeting place and a place of exchange of ideas and experiences.
All collaborative spaces are evocative of Zen gardens with gravel and large black polished boulders to sit on. These areas also conjure the images of huge boulder mountains reminiscent of Hyderabad. In effect these spaces become catalysts to collaboration and seeking.
Visual ART serves as a binding element in all human endeavors, and has been the driving force in all design decisions. Whether it is the clocks, the library boxes, the boulders or the folly, they all arouse ART that is sometimes dynamic on its own, and sometimes structured and transformed by the users….
