In the autumn of 2020, the tenant moved out of the Forum office building, which was designed by atelier PRO twenty years ago. The characteristic building, at the time already progressive in terms of sustainability, will be fully adapted to the current requirements of office use and expanded with additional office space.
The main design of the building is formed by two long office wings with a central zone. This middle zone consists of two transparent building volumes on the north and south side with a large atrium in between. The atrium will be given a completely new look and refurbished as a central space with facilities for future tenants. The new attractive entrance on Roeskestraat is part of the largely transparent volume into which the current, copper-clad heart-shaped pavilion, will be integrated. While retaining elements that have defined the building's architecture over the past 20 years, this building will once again be a high-quality addition to the neighborhood and the future ambitious of Amsterdam's Zuidas district.
