An unfinished cubic building that was started without architectural
design by the owner of the company some years ago with the intention of
expanding existing offices represented by the small group of L-shaped
building, and hte building was not complete till now.
Working on an existing building it means developing adaptative and
ingenious strategies and this unique emplacement sugests an appropriate
solution materialized in a differentiated design to conform the inicial
situation that is very different from that would be developed for a new
constrution... it´s a good opportunity suggested by the existing
situation. Lighting the upper floor, to be used as a loft for the owner, was one of
the problems that had to be resolved.various yellow "light boxes" where
created with openings and allow natural light to reach all areas of the
buildind. The use of translucent glass allows natural light to flow to the loft
private area in the second flor. Natural lighting and ventilation are provided by the openings in the
upper slab. The space that contains the kitchen and dinning area is the first
element that acts as a trnasition between the old part and the new one.
