Ocean Village marina is located to the south-east of Southampton city centre on the River Itchen.
Redevelopment commenced in the 1980s and the existing uses include housing, regional headquarters for a number of large companies, retail uses, restaurants, cafes, a cinema and a 450-berth leisure marina. The marina is also home to the Royal Southampton Yacht Club.
As part of a regeneration strategy to intensify uses within Ocean Village, the boatyard site was identified for redevelopment. Located adjacent to the Harbour Lights Cinema, the site has a south-eastern aspect across the marina towards the river.
