Casagrande & RintalaWe were invited to Obihiro in Hokkaido, Japan to run a workshop for
urban planners and city architects. We asked them to bring their
children in a local school gym and prepare some paint and cardboad. In
the gym we told the children that now you are the architects and your
mothers and fathers are just cheap labor - you tell them what to do and
they have to obey. Just do a good house. The size must be big enough
for you to fit in.In the end we took the houses to the Obihiro
streets for a walk as a walking street. Sometimes the children would
need a rest and an instant village took place. This was humane and
accidential. The urbanism was great.
