The Obica Restaurant & Lounge in Bahrain was designed as a sophisticated dining destination that blends contemporary glamour with cultural storytelling. The space features bespoke elements throughout, including a dramatic marble entrance floor composed of approximately 400 individually cut pieces, palm-inspired wallpaper by Ananbo referencing Bahrain’s heritage, and luxurious fabrics from Zoffany, Sanderson, Morris & Co., Rubelli, and Élitis paired with Italian leather. Statement lighting plays a central role, with the Liaison Triple Tier Chandelier by Kelly Wearstler on the ground floor and a striking custom chandelier crafted from 78,000 natural mother-of-pearl shells on the first floor. Hexagonal mirrored ceilings, bespoke furniture, custom sconces by Thomas O’Brien, and commissioned artworks by regional artists complete the space, creating a layered interior that celebrates craftsmanship, material richness, and a strong sense of place.
