A cramped kitchen and narrow breakfast room were expanded in this addition to a Victorian home in Swarthmore, PA. The ceilings were raised, cabinet layout reconfigured, and the breakfast room enlarged. The result was a spacious light-filled eat-in kitchen with a view of the garden. On the exterior, a second floor balcony was rebuilt, and a new bluestone patio was added to provide room for outdoor entertaining.
