Engineering equipment is a consequence of the functional building content and associated with certain processes, responsible for the quality of the interior space and provides the necessary conditions inside.
Elements of equipment are most often simply taken out of the main facade or left in plain sight as random traces of a discrepancy between the spatial qualities of buildings and the requirements for their technical content. One way or another, the equipment is in a certain relationship both with the surrounding space as a whole and with individual elements of the building.
Oasis is a project where equipment necessary to provide certain climatic conditions ceases to be a hidden group of objects but becomes a sign of what is happening inside. The outdoor units of the cooling system are grouped into a single ‘unit’ on the ‘technical’ facade, thus becoming a full-fledged architectural element. In this case technological component determines the function for the object — an ice cream shop with an artificial pond filled with water from condensate from air conditioning system. Thus, the principle of a single ‘unit’ extends to the interior — inside there is a showcase with ice cream, which forms the opposite facade that meets the function.
