This project supports families to undergo affordable fertility treatment without sacrificing personalised care and attention and access to the most advanced IVF laboratory in Western Australia. It brings a world-class IVF facility to the growing communities of Perth and Western Australia.
Oasis Fertility Centre’s new South Perth fertility clinic puts intimacy and warmth back into making a family.
8i Architects was engaged by Dr Sunny Baruah to design a patient centred IVF Clinic and Laboratory for Oasis Fertility Centre in South Perth.
For Dr Sunny Baruah and Oasis Fertility Centre, it was essential that their new clinic provided their patients with world class IVF treatment and also supported them emotionally and physically through the design of the clinic.
Dr. Sunny Baruah recognises the emotional toll of infertility and strives to ensure that every patient and couple feels heard, valued, and supported throughout their unique fertility journey.
His vision of providing exceptional personalised patient care and affordable fertility treatment is reflected in the design. In creating a world class healthcare facility, the design has carefully considered the patient’s journey and is supportive of the staff’s health and well-being.The new South Perth clinic offers a calm, secure and caring environment where patients can feel at ease.
Human centric healthcare design.
The entry encompasses two receptions to maintain a boutique feel and a degree of privacy – one for patients consulting with a specialist and undergoing procedures and another for those accessing Oasis’s support services such as blood tests and scans.
It is this sense of respectful separation combined with care that differentiates Oasis Fertility Centre’s South Perth clinic from other fertility clinics in Perth.
In focussing on the human experience, listening and embedding their needs into the entire process of the design of the clinic, Oasis has successfully elevated the patient experience.
For this reason, Oasis Fertility Centre engaged 8i Architects, specialists in IVF healthcare design, laboratory processes and environments and patient focussed clinics.
“We believe design is integral in easing emotional stress by creating a welcoming, personalised space that allows patients and their support person to feel comfortable.”
8i Architects design process
8i Architects worked with Dr Adrianne Pope, a specialist IVF Consultant and Reproductive Technology Accreditation Committee (RTAC) Auditor in developing the design and quality requirements for Oasis Fertility Centre.

Our team regularly meets with the IVF industry’s top experts and attends national and international fertility conferences to continue to expand on our knowledge.

8i Architects was very pleased to deliver Oasis Fertility Centre for Dr Sunny Baruah by providing a calming environment designed to support what is often a stressful time for individuals and families. It marks a welcome design-first for fertility clinics in Western Australia.
