The Oaks Garden brings together a collection of intimate garden spaces that protect the site’s existing historic oak grove. The front garden is made up of painterly drifts of grasses, yarrow, and rudbeckia beneath the shadows of the oak canopy. In the back garden, circuitous paths lead through a diverse woodland planting palette. Using low water plants, this residential garden supports the larger ecosystem while preserving the site’s heritage oak trees. Seamless indoor-outdoor connections integrate garden spaces with the architecture and interiors, strengthening the family’s relationship to the natural world in everyday life.
