This combination eat-in / take-out restaurant is located in the Wardin Building, a new addition to the Hillsdale neighborhood’s commercial district. Prior to launching Oak & Olive, the owners made their mark on the Portland dining scene with their sushi restaurant, Masu. They intend this location to be the first in a series of eateries that serve delicious pizza, pasta, sandwiches, desserts, and select prepare-at-home items to hungry patrons across the Northwest.
The 1,950 square foot space features Oregon white oak paneling and casework and is bathed in natural light from large storefront windows. The kitchen is robust, and is designed to handle both restaurant trade and catering. An innovative heat recovery system uses the BTUs that would otherwise go to waste through the hood exhaust to heat the restaurant’s hot water.
