Since ancient times, so far from Heaven, Arcadia, Utopia to the Happy Valley, there are many forms of paradise that human beings have dreamed of. However, does there exist a real paradise of our time? If it does, where could we find it? We, UNI, find the paradise that is the perfect home in the shape of sphere through the philosophical motif of the ancestors of eastern and western world. The very first house of a human being is the mother’s womb. According to S. Freud, a psychoanalyst, we all desire to go back to the initial and original home, the uterus, where we feel the coziest and the safest. Since the form of sphere is more like a pouch than a box, it could give a person similar feeling of the mother’s uterus. “Returning to the Origin†is one of the ten steps to achieve the Nirvana in Buddhism. The form of sphere is physically resembled to our only planet and initial habitat, the earth, and is morphologically similar to our origin, the ovum. As the global shape is a metaphor of the origin, our project also represents a returning to the origin through the architectural design. Lastly, W. Shakespeare, a playwright, named his theatre ‘the Globe’ with his desire to embrace the whole universe in it.
