The clients love A,Aalto design.
Their request was far beyond my talents but I promised them I will do my best and go my way.
This house is located in an urban residential area in Fukuyama-city in Japan.
Wood structure with thick clay wall is Japanese traditional system, but the design is free from traditional style.The plaster is made of lime and Funori, a kind of seaweed.It was finished a year after completion of construction.
Thick clay wall keeps mild and healthy air condition for human, for instance temperature, humidity, radiation heat, thermal storage, etc.
Moreover the texture of traditional clay wall is excellent.
“Doma” room paved by “Kawara”, traditional roof tile, forms a core space of a whole composition, horizontally and vertically.
