Site & Orientation
The building’s placement responds directly to natural light, plot geometry, and accessibility requirements. Extending along the northeast and northwest edges, it frees the entire south side for a generously sized courtyard dedicated to toddlers’ outdoor activities.
Concept & Spatial Strategy
A 3×3 m structural grid organizes the volumes, forming covered and open relaxation areas throughout. Age-group separation across floors improves supervision, while all major infant functions are concentrated at ground level. Above, a roofed first-floor terrace – supported and shaded by an external metal frame – creates protected outdoor space.
Circulation & Program
Full-height openings along the courtyard façade blur interior-exterior boundaries during warmer months. South-facing classrooms ensure natural ventilation, while green buffers around the perimeter mitigate city pollution and create meeting points for parents. A large forecourt on the northeast provides comfortable arrival and departure flows.
Service Zones & Access
Secondary uses, such as staircase, restrooms and sleeping rooms are positioned along the protected north side. A second entrance at the corner offers direct access to administration, easing congestion at peak hours. Parking entry is placed at the northern boundary, completing a clear and efficient circulation system.
