An extension to a
semi-detached Edwardian home. This addition is formed out of a
response to the existing building and the broader context of the heritage
screetscape. The experience is one of continuity across 2 distinct
parts as it is born out of the materials and forms of the existing building
however ultimately it ends in contemporary expression that
makes no apology for being new. Internally a double
height space over the kitchen places a master bedroom in a loft
space, allowing light to filter into the center of the house. Tactile
materials combined with ever-changing qualities of light have created a series
of interconnected spaces that are a pleasure to spend time in.
