his AIA award winning 3000 square foot office design for the NoVo Foundation provides flexible work and meeting spaces for a young and dynamic non-profit institution. Key to the client’s mission and program are a series of sustainable design features including use of recycled timber in the lobby, bamboo flooring, paperstone desktops and an ultra-efficient multi-zone heating and air-conditioning system with integrated controls in each office space. The central conference room can be used for private meetings, or opened up to an adjacent lobby and sitting area for presentations and lectures. Lighting loads have been substantially reduced through the introduction of transom panels and glass doors that allow natural light from three exposures to filter into the center of the space. Views of midtown Manhattan are provided from every public room and private workstation.
