NY3 Design Group was commissioned to transform a turn of the 20th century retail establishment into a contemporary Italian restaurant in the heart of Little Italy. The design team had to strike a balance between "modernity" and "traditionalism" in a NYC neighborhood where "old school" was a way of life. To accomplish this, David Freire and Laura Reddy of NY3 Design Group conceived a design that sheathed the exterior and interior walls with a tumbled Italian marble and on the interior inserted a modern floor tile made to resemble rusted steel plates. The highlight of the space is the barrel vaulted ceiling which has been carefully lit to accent and draw the eyes up as you take the final sip from your wine glass!
