Nova occupies a site in the Fauntleroy Triangle neighborhood of West Seattle, a developing area near the West Seattle Junction. The Fauntleroy Triangle balances planned pedestrian and bicycle-focused streets with vehicle traffic and residential buildings with light industrial use. Nova’s exterior mixes industrial materials with warm wood and large windows to create a modern and inviting living space. The recessed first level has higher ceilings than the upper levels, which creates a “floating box” feel to the higher floors while providing sun and weather protection to the ground floor. The generous roof deck and garden are accessed from a common room lit by a ceiling of tiny twinkling lights.
