Cinema "Pushkinskiy" - a brilliant representative of the era of
constructivism and rationalism in architecture. However, the need to change the
face of dictating to him the city itself. The building, occupying a key
position in the ensemble of Pushkin Square, must not only integrate harmoniously with the surroundings,
but also carry a meaning, a kind of architectural thought.
In our cinema facade renovation project we wanted to
identify the typological features of the building. Cinema – is a deaf volume, often without any windows, life in
it is facing inwards. Our Pushkinskiy - a lump of ice, inside which is raging
fire of cinema. The severity of the deaf volume is lightweight glass stylobate.
Stairs is a winding road, which symbolizes the difficult path of modern Russian
cinema. The whole look of our project is intended to represent the position of
national cinema in the modern world - cinema building on Pushkin Square - kept
apart, unlike the other buildings, but symbolizes the beginning of a new,
hopefully better times.
For the facade facing in our
project, we used the architectural fabric fluoropolymer-based material DuPont Teflon
- translucent fabric is used in conjunction with steel structures, forming a
broken line form of cinema. For the remaining elements of the exterior finish
material is applied DuPont Corian,
Powder Coatings DuPont Alesta, and
DuPont SentryGlas - for stained glass windows.
