An extension to a semi-detached Edwardian home. This addition is formed out of a response to the existing building and the broader context of the heritage streetscape. The experience is one of continuity across 2 distinct parts as it is born out of the materials and forms of the existing building however ultimately it ends in contemporary expression. Internally a double height space over the kitchen places a master bedroom in a loft space, allowing light to filter into the centre of the house. Tactile materials combined with ever-changing qualities of light have created a series of interconnected spaces that are a pleasure to spend time in.
