Designed by Choeff Levy Fischman Architecture + Design, the two-story Tropical Modern home on star-studded North Bay Road in Miami Beach, was beautifully executed with the finest international craftsmanship and materials, such as Ipe wood, marble, dark bronze doors and window frames and metal accents. It was envisioned as a heavy stone base that supports balconies with vertically- and overhead-wrapping slabs creating a fascinating illusion that the base supports a light sheet of folded paper.
The home has views of downtown Miami and an undeniable connection to water. This begins before you even step inside, with a dramatic entryway that features two reflecting ponds and a cascading waterfall. The interiors flow freely, wrapping around a central courtyard with a reflecting pond, living green wall and sabal palm trees that can be seen from every public space in the house. The ponds make the entire house look like it’s floating. The water appears to continue through the house and into the pool deck, which then continues into Biscayne Bay. Outside, the Lautner-Edge infinity pool melds with the waterfront while conveying a glistening impression of a massive sheet of glass.
The home has nine bedrooms, nine full bathrooms and four half-bathrooms. The primary suite along two other bedrooms have views of the bay and nearly every room throughout the house has views of the reflecting ponds or pool. Other amenities include a gym, spa, home theater, outdoor kitchen and lounge area, rooftop deck, three-car garage with lifts and 124 feet of water frontage.
The house incorporates several eco-friendly features in its design. It is elevated to the maximum height allowed by Miami Beach to enhance flood resilience. Additionally, it includes high-efficiency air conditioning, high-performance glazing, complete on-site water retention, and LED lighting throughout.
