The purpose of the building designed by architect Georg Jägerroos and completed in 1929, located at Kanavakatu 3AB in Helsinki, changed in the fall of 2023, when the building turned into a hotel of 226 rooms. The building served as a warehouse until the 1980s, after which it was converted to office use. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland was last used as an office in the building, and in 2021 Senaatti Kiinteistöt sold the building to the real estate development company NREP, which developed the Noli Studios concept. The new hotel functions as a continuation of the neighboring Noli Studios, built in the former Kesko headquarters. Architecturally, the transformation into a hotel had three clear goals: to activate the street level and to create a roof layer on the roof of the house open to visitors with a sea view, and to enlarge the low window openings.
