The project is a 2,500 sf., three-story extension to an existing Victorian house in the Castro district. The clients desired a clean, modern addition, which would respect the existing Victorian architecture. The extension creates a large multi-purpose space on the main living floor that functions as both kitchen and living areas. The new garden level layout includes a bedroom/den and bathroom; while the upper floor is converted into a spacious master bedroom, bathroom and dressing area. Each level has floor to ceiling glass sliding doors opening onto interconnecting decks that overlook the backyard and gardens. Extensive renovation to the existing Victorian includes modernizing all the bathrooms and bedrooms while maintaining key Victorian elements.
