This house was built on 38m2 land. Even in center of Tokyo, it was very small site. Volume permitted by law was too small also. (building footprint 22ms, total floor 112m2 including basement floor and staircase )
I made 4 floors and placed one function to each floor. 1st floor is entrance, 2nd is dining kitchen, 3rd is living room, 4th is bed room and bath room.
For the regulation, staircase should be separated from each rooms as a fire compartment. So I tried to cut back a pressure of small space.
All rooms have a big window on the corner, from floor to the ceiling. This window faced to west side. West side was downhill, so having a good view and no outside seen. And I put movable wood louver on westside. It is able to control afternoon sunlight and the privacy.
This housing is very small, you will see the all element close.
So I put all elements in polite. Concrete, oak wood, ebony wood, glass, iron, stone, these material were in harmony in this small housing.
