The corner parcel in a flat construction block of 1959 is rebuilt as a family house. The steep northwards slope and view demand for a particular approach: sunlight has to be directed from the higher situated street side, deep into the lower level without allowing passers by, unwanted glimpses into the building. Through a void out from the western terrace, the lower situated rooms are enriched with sun light.
The residence is composed of two connectable or separable residential units. Both units are designed to be barrier free.
The klima:aktiv criteria is respected in the selection of materials. The energy concept leans towards passive house construction. A controlled ventilation system in combination with a heat pump warms up the building. Solar collectors and photovoltaic cells are foreseen.
