For an “open ideas” competition with the goal of creating a sustainable eco-friendly design, organized by Metropolis Magazine, the proposal was to incorporate air purification devices based on current technologies for Ozone purification of Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Dioxide filtration into existing street billboard structures. To power such devices we incorporated both solar and small wind turbines into the structures allowing for the entire system to be completely self-sufficient. In order to fund the initial financial costs of setting up the air purification systems we recommended a state tariff be added to the billboard advertising costs. The proposal was short listed and published in Metropolis Magazine.
