Terapia
Urbana has created the first vertical garden to be installed in a hospital
center in Europe. Inthe USP Sagrado Corazón
Clinic in Seville, Spain this garden encompasses a beautiful collection of 1400 plants selected from more than 40 plant species. This particular vertical garden is inspired by a garden landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx.
His beautiful piece the "Hanging Garden",
is located in the Ministry of Education and Public Health in Brazil, a landmark of
modern architecture of the 30s
designed by Le Corbusier.
The perfect combination of art and architecture.
Working closely with experts in the
University of Seville we have designed patented systems using Fitotextil
that optimise plant performance. The Irrigation systems are employed to ensure
that watering is carried out in
closed circuit, the
excess water is
collected in the watering trays
located at the
bottom of the vertical garden where
it is purified and filtered, and nutrients are added in a liquid form. Once this
process is complete the water is pumped back into the vertical garden.
The
next step on Terapia Urbana agenda
is to introduce their Andalusian products into new markets, in the UK, Belgium
and Holland! Terapia Urban believe that nature innovation
and design are the future, and introducing nature back into urban spaces is a
vital way in which we can move forward towards building more sustainable
cities.
