Manning Architects in a joint venture along another local architecture firm was selected to provide Master Planning and Architectural services for the New Orleans East Hospital Project. The scope of work consists of the redevelopment of the former Methodist Hospital site, as an 80 bed acute care inpatient hospital.
The completed facility will consist of both new construction, renovation of an existing structure and site work. The project includes demolition of exterior
partitions and roofing system at an existing six story concrete structure East Tower. New work includes the replacement of the building skin with an insulated metal panel system and roofing membrane.
The new construction Patient Care Pavilion is a three story concrete structure with insulated metal panel system, roofing membrane, full Emergency Department with canopy and elevated parking structure and ramp system. The complete renovation of the existing East Tower interiors includes a main entry lobby, atrium, chapel, new construction bridge corridor and full six stories of clinical spaces with waiting areas. The overall scope will add 133,640 sf of renovations to an existing 6-story concrete structure and interior rebuild and a new 71,740 sf building.
