The project has a twofold objective, that of connecting the towns of Capolago, Maroggia
and Bissone, presently poorly linked, with a promenade that skirts Lake Lugano, and at
the same time to confer an added value to the area which at present is little visited
and exploited.
At its extremities the project will take in two lake fronts currently little used as they
are badly connected with the adjacent roads.
The promenade runs either completely by the water or rising above the shore to link up
points of the lakeside today not connected with each other. The project, continuing,
changes level by means of ramps and steps in such a way as to follow the changes in level
along the shore and to be able to reach places of landscape and tourist interest which
are today isolated and poorly served.
After a thorough analysis of the area, I have decided to give the walkway three new
points of land connection, to be able to link the Canton Road with the project and to
favor movement between the different places analyzed in the proposal. This stems from
the ambition to create a real new and exclusively pedestrian promenade for the territory
of Ceresio.
