New private residence on small sloping site affording beasutiful views over Pretoria, the capital city of South Africa. Client's brief was that their extensive art collection be housed in a compact, easy living residence.The design takes advantage of the views from all living areas. A corridor links the different rooms, while replicating an art gallery. Clerestory windows results in a well lit interior, and choice of finishes create an intimate atmosphere. Mellet & Human Architects won Awards of Merit and Excellence for the design from the South African Institute of Architects.
