As an architect in Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), Pham Hung has a lot of ideas but has not found a client for this novelty. With conditions permitting, he decides to experiment for his own house. After a year of examining options, and 10 months of construction, the house is finished, standing out among to the surrounding buildings.
On a plot of land of more than 200 m2, Hung only builds one house, covering a surface of 110m2, which includes a main floor and a mezzanine. The home is comprised of a living room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, worship room, WC area, washing area.
The most impressive aspect of the house is the facade, which uses split stone and brick ventilation. Due to the limited budget and the desire to choose local materials, Hung spent a lot of time traveling through the provinces to select the brick and stone. The construction was meticulously achieved, and he had to make himself mica panels in the front wind turbines.
After choosing the kind of split stone he wanted to work with, he approached a sawmill to cut thin 3-4cm pieces for the façade surrounding the house.
The brick façade created by Hue provides ventilation and projects a charming detail, attracting attention in the living room area.
There are no conditions to purchase furniture, the family used the items available. The set of tables and chairs already belonged to the family and were arranged in the new space to bring the old familiar feel to the modern living room.
The floor was another design aspect that required much thought. The young architect decided to choose asphalt-sealed wood flooring, which can resist water, fire, termites and sap.
The house is airy and receives a log of natural light thanks to the windows and perforated brick façade.
Bedrooms in brown-white tones and decorative tiles are warm and light in color, romantic.
The project achieves a fancy and usable design with familiar materials, attracting the attention of many people. When Hung shared his home image on Facebook in December 2016, there were 25,000 likes, 14,000 share and 11,000 comments.
