A luxury jeweler was taking over a prominent retail unit on Bloor Street West in the Yorkville Village neighborhood of Toronto and wanted to change the entire storefront and interior space to reflect their brand. The new two-story storefront had to be integrated into the surrounding Heritage designated façade of The University Theatre built in 1947. Energy efficient lighting sparkles on the façade’s cast aluminum diamond tiles which are arranged in a gradient from gold-to-black. The store’s interior is accessorized with fine patterned wallpaper, lacquered millwork, and centrally focused around a rotunda space with chandelier and a flood of daylight for the well-being of clients and jewelers.
Nicholas Jay Architect was the architect-of-record for the project in collaboration with a NYC-based architectural design firm, Design Republic.
