Dörflingen House
This newly built single family house is located in Dörflingen, a small town in the canton of Schaffhausen. As in many other Swiss towns, its traditional timber framed houses are built within a beautiful natural surrounding.
The Dörflingen House is a 210 m2 residence which stands on an 811 m2 plot. Designed for a couple, it has 5,5 rooms distributed over 2 floors. Because of its breath taking views, one of the main features of the house is the 111 m2 terrace on the second floor. This space is accessed from a luxurious suite which includes a master bedroom, a walk in closet, a fitness area and a bathroom.
Aesthetically, the building consists of three powerful white strips which seem to land on the ground and integrate harmoniously in the town’s landscape. The nature in the surroundings seems to flow through these strips in a way that the building almost disappears. The connection between exterior and interior is strongly achieved in all spaces through large surfaces of glass.
Even if its built in quite a traditional setting, the Dörflingen House manages to blend in gracefully thanks to its simple yet elegant and powerful design.
