FKP was engaged to create a master plan in support of the new strategic direction of the AI DuPont Hospital for Children. The first phase of the master plan is the new five-story patient care building featuring expanded services to meet the growing needs of the area. The new facility accommodates 192 private inpatient rooms that include state-of-the-art technology and replace most of the semi-private medical/surgical beds in the existing hospital.
Upgrading form a Level II to a Level I Trauma Center, the entirely new emergency department features 44 rooms to support safe and efficient care with a nine-bed observation unit for children who require prolonged care but do not require hospital admission.
