The project is located on a 32500 square meter piece of land in Fardis located fifty kilometers from Tehran- Besides the Gated Residential called “Village”. This neighborhood includes 533 residential units with 285,000 square meters of built area.
Iran’s demographic ecosystem has reached its maximum following the revolution.
This issue has caused the construction method for middle-class housing to a minimum or standards based on the following principles:
A. Repetition of typologies that address the basic needs for survival
B. Open spaces are residues of built spaces.
C. Projects are disregarded to the natural and their social contexts.
But this project tries to provide an alternative for housing that revolves around an open space design as a center for social interactions and community origins in the area, while by connecting the basement floor to the ground floor possibility of communication with the “village” space maximizes.
"The village” is known as a reserve of green space and has an educated community. But, during observations, we realized there is a lack of social spaces such as restaurants, and gatherings there, so our efforts are being made to allocate basement and ground floors in the “neighbor” project to provide such spaces to interact with mature residents of “village”
The project's height is also adjusted to “village” by allowing the project's skyline to rise gradually from the village to the denser urban fabric.
To emphasize on relevancy with the village each of the unit floor plans is separated from the other by terrace-like courtyard spaces, which not only manage the open and closed space of the project but also manage the entrances. The detachment strategy, along with the cellular-like shape of each unit and its formal and color distinction, aims to create a uniqueness for its inhabitants that distances itself from the common typology.
