This project was developed by Pedro Gubbins Foxley and Victor Gubbins Browne of Gubbins Arquitectos and Antonio Polidura and Pablo Talhouk of Polidura-Talhouk Arquitectos. The neighbor care building in Peñalolén is part of a phased project of a civic center that brings together various services granted by the municipality.
The project contemplates a joining of functionality and openness to create a building that responds in an efficient manner to the variety of needs and desires of the community: community meeting, human development and social participation
The proposal forms an access point at the corner of Grecia and Consistorial from which you enter the heart of the civic center, the plaza.
The proposal advocates a dynamic of solids and voids, the former taking the image and functionality of an entry. The volumes at human scale respect and enhance the worth of the town hall. The building seeks to re-interpret the solidity and expression of mass of the current town hall through the use of structural piers in the facades that regulate sunlight.
