Following the successful transformation of a family-owned inherited site into a destination that has positively contributed to the local community through architecture, NAYA Café Ayutthaya entered its next phase of development. The expansion was conceived to accommodate broader patterns of use and a wider range of visitor experiences, resulting in the creation of NAYA Café & Restaurant Ayutthaya.

The new building builds upon the conceptual foundation established by the original café while introducing a new spatial layer to the site. At its core, the project continues to explore the relationship between people and the surrounding agricultural landscape, preserving architecture's role as a mediator between everyday life and the rice-farming culture that defines the region.

The restaurant takes its form from the same rice-grain geometry that inspired the original café. Rather than introducing a contrasting architectural language, the project extends and reinterprets the existing design concept. A second rice-grain volume was carefully positioned to reinforce the presence of the original building without obstructing its views, allowing both structures to establish a complementary dialogue across the landscape.

After determining the optimal location, the design focused on framing new perspectives toward both the café and the surrounding rice fields. The elliptical form was strategically cut at an angle of approximately fifteen degrees, opening the building toward the landscape while maintaining an efficient internal layout and balanced spatial proportions.

The resulting curved geometry creates both enclosure and continuity throughout the building. It connects the project's three primary zones: the outdoor dining terrace, the indoor dining hall, and the kitchen. At the same time, the curved walls establish a subtle spatial hierarchy, clearly separating public dining areas from the restaurant's operational spaces without compromising the openness of the overall plan.

Designing a new building within a site already defined by a strong architectural identity presented both a challenge and an opportunity. Rather than creating a separate narrative, the architects chose to extend the existing concept, enriching the spatial experience while maintaining continuity with the site's original design language. The result introduces new perspectives, diverse patterns of occupation, and a stronger dialogue between architecture, landscape, and everyday life.
