The Joint Force Command (NATO) Headquarters will move from its historical location in Bagnoli to a new location near the lake of Patria, 26 Km north of Naples.
The new Headquarters consist of 6 separate buildings with 100,000 sqm of usable space organized by a masterplan covering an area of 32 hectars of semi-rural land. Some 2500 personnel will work daily in the compound. The new settlement is a highly multifunctional program: offices, laboratories, maintenance shops, special areas, residences, retail, banking and post office, restaurants, educational, medical.
The project general strategy focuses around the maximum integration of the numerous specialised areas, to the aim of creating a highly lively environment in the urban complex throughout the day. This while implementing an innovative set of sustainability measures concerning both the nature of the construction as well as the related operational and maintenance requirements.
