NAR, which means “pomegranate” in Turkish, is an exhibition set consisting an exhibition island and a shelving unit. The idea behind this design is to show how individual units are capable of creating a superior individual, just like the fruit pomegranate. It is designed as a network structure morphed through swarm dynamics, offering size-flexible display and comprehensive visual imagery for brands. The overall composition contains a three-piece island unit and a three-piece display shelf where components blend into each other in a way that ties the design visually and structurally into a stable whole. The piece is built with the application of 3D software used in naval architecture, using CNC machinery for both the display island and shelf units. It consists 18 mm plywood sections assembled by Turkish carpenters.
