The Safford Avenue Recreation Corridor a multi-use facility providing pedestrian access to the many small towns and communities along its half mile trail and 1.2 acre park site. Open to anyone, it provides a unique, protected greenspace for walking, jogging, skating and biking.
DC+A’s design for the project included a fitness park complete with outdoor fitness equipment, an group exercise lawn, walking trails, and a play area. The Pinellas Trail and streetscape renovations consist of adjacent sidewalks on the east and west sides of the street to provide for optimal pedestrian circulation combined with landscape enhancements along the Trail median.
