The site of ICHOT in Poznan is intimately related to different historic events which have strongly organized its territorial development throughout the centuries. We can observe a quasi-fusional link between the landscape and the city fabric, especially the existing lock on the riverside of Ostrow Tumski on which the futur ICHOT will be connected. The theme of erasing a buiding's impact in landscape, and landscaped architecture is a very actual topic.3 strong inspirations :1. Designing a new landscape through a building, in harmony with the existing environment.2. Retracing a link with the disappeared lock, also with the existing built elements of the site.3. Constructing a building that can fullfil the ecological requirements of sustainable development. The museum is designed like the articulation of two essential components : the landscape and the built. The landscape connects the two riversides and extends the urban circulations. The built, joins the existing lock at the westside and develops itself as a bridge towards the eastside, to contain the exhibition program, and became the new urban sign.
