Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (2006)

Firm
SIZE
1,000,000 +
BUDGET
$10M - 50M
Competition for an architectural design concept of the building of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
The building site is located in the central part of town. The site borders: new City Square on the south, Świętokrzyski Park on the north, Marszalkowska street on the east and Soviet Palace of Science and Culture on the west. The building is divided into separate modules and the first floor level between them is a pedestrian zone (it does not block the current pedestrian traffic).
The museum is like an island surrounded by other venues (the park, City Square,…), so it does not have a main facade, they are equivalent. Temporary exhibitions are planned outside so the outer walls of the museum are available as displays for the exhibits, for this reason the Museum has a neutral architecture.
