The nature surrounding the city of San Sebastian is its main characteristic. Above all the bay of la Concha. Its borded all along with a walk, from which is possible to admire the landscape. The promenade is punctuacted by iconic buildings, the Kursaal of Rafael Moneo, and iconic artworks, some sculptures of two great basque artists, Jorge Oteiza and Eduardo Chillida. The hole walk is very neat, except one part at the west of the bay, where the pedestrian have less place for their walk than the cars. This part preceeds the sculptures of Chillida, Los Peines del Viento. The first intention of this project was to make this part of the promenade pedestrian, using the construction of a new cultural building as a trigger. A museum for regional artworks of landscapes, based in a part of the collection of the Fundacion la Kutxa. The building is part of the walk. The open ground floor take part of the public space and links the existing plateforms to the entrance of the museum. There are two main elements in the project, the base, linking public space and museum space, and the protection wall, enclosing the exhibition spaces. This wall has to be strong because of the proximity to the sea, to the waves. It has to protect regional legacy. The parcours of the museum is fluid, a new element in the itinerary of the paseo de la Concha. It is an ascendant promenade, through different spaces, with different heights and differents views on the outside landscapes. The promenade ends out of the building, with the sculptures of Chillida, facing the infinite ocean.
