This is a detached house built in
1960’s. We followed a building process which we hadn’t experienced before. We
had to start from the begining according
to the existing technical conditions and latest functional demands. First we
strengthened the existing load-bearing system and the concrete floor which
divides the basement and entrance floor.
We reinforced the continuous foundation walls from both inside and
outside by concrete load bearing walls. Secondly we framed the new steel
structure on these load bearing walls. Detached from the existing walls, we
ended this steel structure with the roof at the top. This provided us an open
interior space without any columns.
Basement floor is designed for the
use of the main kitchen, storage, part of the library and a study related to the
library while the attic storey keeping the previous roof slope, is considered
for sleeping and bathroom. Raised ground floor as the daily living space,is
supported by a kitchenette, a washroom.and a study corner.This level is also
enriched by a balcony which is 1.50 meters high above the garden.
We maintained the window and
entrance openings of the front facade at the entrance level. We also designed
and applied all the fixed furniture and wet area together ourselves.
